This mosque has been the biggest in the village of Jabāliyā and comprises an area of approx. 1000 sqm. Originally from the Mamlūk period, only the minaret and the entrance part are remaining from that time. The rest was constructed in modern times.
To the north of the mosque there is a small house (zāwiya) that was used by Maghribi shaykhs foriʿtikāf, and a tomb dedicated to one shaykh Muḥammad al-Mashīshī.
